Do you have knowledge of control systems, enjoy solving technical problems, and want to work in an industry where things are really happening? We are now looking for an automation engineer for our client Ovako in Smedjebacken.

Here you will have the opportunity to work in a heavy industrial environment where technology, processes, and production meet. You will be an important part of the operation and work closely with production on operation, development, and improvement of automation solutions.

This is a role for you who want to combine practical work in production with the development of industrial control systems.

As an automation engineer, you will work both operationally and development-oriented with automation systems in a process and production environment.

• Work with operation, maintenance, and development of automation systems

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize process equipment and control systems

• Participate in urgent operational disturbances and work with preventive maintenance

• Develop and improve existing HMI, control, and drive systems

• Participate in projects related to improvements, new installations, and renovations

• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and external suppliers

• Prepare technical documentation and requests for quotes

• Backup of control systems

• Update functional descriptions for control systems

• Documentation and analysis of electrical disturbances in the process machines

• Reporting in the company's maintenance system

• Training of staff during the introduction of new equipment

Location: Smedjebacken

Extent: Full-time

Working hours: Daytime with flexibility

You are technically interested, solution-oriented, and thrive in an environment where the pace can vary. You are self-driven but also appreciate collaborating with other functions in the organization.

We believe you enjoy being close to production, taking responsibility, and working with both troubleshooting and improvements of technical systems. You have analytical skills and can quickly understand complex problems.

• Good knowledge of PLC systems

• Good knowledge of HMI

• Experience with DCS systems

• Experience working in the process industry

• Ability to read electrical diagrams

• Good computer skills

• Ability to speak and understand Swedish and English

• Driving license B and access to a car

• Experience from the steel industry or rolling mill

• Experience participating in or leading technical projects

• Experience working with systems such as Siemens or ABB
